WUHAN – An International conference named Cultural and Scientific Innovation and Cultural Industry development 2014 was held in the Central China Normal University (CCNU) Run Run Shaw International Auditorium with cooperation of two research institutions,CCNUCulturalIndustryResearchCenterand Wuhan Cultural andScientificInnovationResearchCenter. The Research Base Director, Professor Deng mingyan, has participated in this conference. According to Deng, this International conference was a very high-leveled one, and she was also impressed by the scholars and researchers.
Scholars from all over the world have attended the conference. They include President of Shared Heritage Committee of International Council On Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) Siegfried RCT Enders, Vice President of the same institute Sue Jackson Stepkowski, Head of School of Humanity and Education in Deakin University Australia David Marshall, Disney's Outstanding Design Award Winner Steven William, Director of research center of socialism with Chinese characteristics in Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Ying Yungong, Vice Inspector of Wuhan Municipal propaganda Department Wu Tianyong, Deputy Director of Hongshan Distric NPC Standing Committee Dou Mei, etc. Vice President of CCNU Li Xiangnong and Vice Inspector ofWuhanMunicipal propaganda Department Wu Tianyong addressed in the conference. And Huang Yonglin, Vice President of CCNU and Director of National Cultural Industry Research Center hosted the opening ceremony.
The conference focused on the topic of New Media and Regional Cultural Industry Development. During the session, Enders, Stepkowski, Philip and William discussed four topics, Cultural Heritage and Artificial Scenary, Adaptive Recycling of Heritage Architecture, Personalities in the Cultural Industry and Application of New Media in Architecture, respectively. In the meanwhile, based on the contemporary background of traditional culture, Chinese scholar Ying analyzed the social economical reasons why the Chinese traditional cultural had become more noted, and illustrated the development of Chinese cultural industry from the Taoist perspective. Accordingly, Tan also introduced the achievements of theNationalCulturalIndustryResearchCenterin new media and cultural industry in detail. And the attended scholars and researchers expressed their own perspectives on the topic New Media and Regional Cultural Industry Development. Talk were about Internet, new media, cultural industrial cooperative platform and regional cultural industry development.
